Resembling miniature landscapes or alien meteorites at first glance, The Other Writing is a series of fossilized fictions encrypted within terrestrial matter. These sculptures are created by molding forms and textures from actual geological surfaces on sites like deserts, basins, canyons, quarries, and abandoned mines. They are then cast into aqua-resin, embedding debris of fauna, flora, and human activities spanning various timescales, including minerals, shells, petrified woods, and man-made artifacts. The patterns of imperfect repetition and unconformity within the sculpture represent the recording devices of the Earth as repositories for nonlinguistic inscription.
